Fun sculpture in the airport.
Richard and I got up at 5:00
a.m. to catch a flight to Trinidad. The flight left at 6:55 a.m. 20 minutes later we were in Trinidad and
waiting for our next flight to St. Vincent. Our 2nd flight was on Liat Airlines. We were told Liat airlines was always late and true to form our plane left an hour later
than scheduled. Once on our way and a 40 minute flight, we were
in St. Vincent. We were met by Sister Worthington and Zuster Christiansen. Zuster because she was waiting for her visa
to Surinam which is a Dutch speaking country. They were fun
girls. We drove to the district meeting in
progress and finally met President and Sister Mehr. We listened to Pres. Mehr as he wrapped up
the meeting and then everyone enjoyed pizza.
After that President Mehr interviewed each missionary and we sat and talked
to the missionaries to find out their needs. Several didn’t have sheets, two of them
didn’t have a dryer rack so they would put their wet clothes to dry on their
beds. None of them had changed the water filters in the apartments, and they all needed cleaning supplies. Missionaries don't like spending their percious money on cleaning supplies. President Mehr asked us to assist with these needs until another senior couple came to the mission. After the interviews we checked into our hotel and had dinner with President and Sister
Mehr. They talked about their expectations for us as senior missionaries.
St. Vincent is a beautiful Island.
President and Sister Mehr are amazing!
